Paris Jackson Thinks About Acting

Both Prince and Paris Jackson recently said they are thinking of trying a few things in the showbiz world, Prince wanting to produce and Paris interested in acting. Interestingly, many things in her chart, specifically her many 12th house planets and her Cancer Moon, indicate a tendency to be more withdrawn or even shy, but her south node in the 11th house of 'the public' reveals she's used to being in the spotlight (of course!)

Her south node is in Pisces, so it is ruled by Neptune, in her 10th house of career. Mlle. Kiddie could definitely see her in the acting profession, which is often about being a bit of a chameleon, something Neptune's ever-shifting and fantasy-loving style can find easy to do. Pisces can also be a very dreamy sign. She probably has some big dreams and aspirations, which she will need all that Aries initiative to translate into action. Jupiter is nearby also in her 11th house, so having friends in high places will definitely translate into 'luck' for her as far as getting opportunities.

What will be most important over her life is learning to work to brings those dreams. into reality She may come at things, even as she gets older, with naivete and lack of focus and that can have her playing roles (literally in acting or figuratively) where she has just landed by accident rather than out of intention and choice. Working toward her north node in Virgo in the 5th house will mean using discrimination in her creative choices so that what she produces can be real and will bear her creative mark rather than just ambiguous fame.

With her Aries Sun and Aries Rising, just going for it with gusto is a key first step!

Owen Wilson's New Role as Daddy

It's been about six weeks since Owen Wilson took on the role of a lifetime: new dad! He told Jay Leno of The Tonight Show that it's "very exciting" and that "he's glowing." Awww.

Little Robert Ford (named after Owen's grandfather, and will probably go by 'Ford') has his Sun in Capricorn (along with several other planets!) and his Moon in Taurus. Both practical earth signs, Ford will probably be a very no-nonsense kid. This is especially true compared to his dad who is a little more excitable and intense (4 planets in dramatic Scorpio).

With a Taurus Moon, Ford is probably rather content just to sleep, eat, and poop, as new babies tend to do anyway, but he's going to be a pretty laid-back baby as long as he feels secure and has a routine so he knows what to expect. Taurus Moons like to know what's next so they have a sense of rhythm, continuity, and stability in their life to keep them feeling safe and nurtured.

This general easy-going mood will probably continue as Ford grows up, which can tend to make him not in any kind of hurry to do much of anything, but as he gets older and gets more in touch with his Capricorn Sun (which is joined by 'go-get-em' Mars), he'll probably enjoy having his achievements celebrated, whether it's an A at school or just growing an inch! Dad Owen will probably be a great motivator for Ford, with his Mars also in Taurus and in a supportive trine to Ford's Sun & Mars.

Happy Birthday Pisces Kids

The Sun is in Pisces from February 18th to March 20th this year. Happy birthday to all those Pisces kiddos (and mommies and daddies)!

Pisceans arguably trump any other sign for imagination. They often retreat into their imagination to create the magical world they are sometimes more at home with than the mundane one. Piscean children can get caught up in daydreams quite often and parents can sometimes find it a challenge to keep their attention in the here and now! They can be quite intelligent, but sometimes seem absent-minded because of the call of the inner world.

Piscean children are also very tender and empathetic. They can sometimes be shy, but if someone is hurt or showing sadness, they are the first to put their arms around them and try to help. They can be so tender-hearted that their feelings are easily engaged and hurt as well.

Frances ("Frankie") Pen has three planets, including the Sun, in Pisces. She also has her north node in this sign, which means she is learning to balance her south node in Virgo. This involves learning to be compassionate and forgiving of others as well as herself and not to sweat the small stuff. Here's more from Frankie's Kiddiegram:

Gentle, receptive, and impressionable, Frances feels everything very acutely and is powerfully affected by her surroundings. She absorbs the emotions of the people she is with, and can be adversely affected if there is much negativity or disharmony around her. It is as if she has no defensive armor to shield herself from outside influences, and you will find her withdrawing into herself when she begins to feel overwhelmed. She is very soft-hearted, sensitive to criticism or harshness in any form, and easily hurt by unkindness. She seems to feel just as badly when other people are being cruel to one another, as when someone is unkind to her directly.

Frances turns 4 today along with many of her Hollywood peers. Happy birthday!

Happy Valentine's Day: Baby Boy for Cake Boss

It's a boy for 'Cake Boss' Buddy Valastro and his wife, Lisa. Carlo Salvatore Valastro was born on Valentine's Day in the early evening at 5:11 pm. Carlo comes from Carlo's Bakery and the man who owned the bakery before Buddy's dad took over. Salvatore comes from Sal Picinich who worked at the shop for over 40 years until he died in January.

This and many other examples from the show Cake Boss reveal how important tradition and family is in little Carlo's family, which is already revealed in his chart.

Little Carlo has a Cancer south node, the sign of family, in the 11th house, which represents (among other things) groups. A 'family group' might be more appropriately called tribe or clan, and Carlo certainly has a big one! He also has the moon (heart) in Cancer, so he will probably be very closely bonded with his tribe.

With 4 planets, including his Sun, in the sign of Aquarius, Carlo will be learning independence and what it means to be an individual within the context of that large family that will shape his early years. It will be of prime importance for him to take opportunities to find out who he really is, even if it's not always understood by his family. Three of those planets are also in the 7th house of relationship so the contrast between the people he has in his life and wanting to live up to their expectations vs. his own individuality will be rich learning ground.

The planets Jupiter and Uranus are both forming a square to his south and north nodes, which represents a kind of 'rite of passage' for these learning processes. Jupiter in Aries is about learning to risk, to take initiative and leaps of faith. Uranus will echo his Aquarius need to not be afraid to be true to himself and be honest about and proud of who he is.

His Leo Ascendant will come in handy when it comes to pride. The Ascendant is our overall approach to the world, and having a Leo Ascendant brings the natural desire to express oneself, playfully and sincerely, being proud of who one is rather than apologizing for it or catering too make others comfortable. Here's more about Leo Rising from Carlo's Kiddiegram:

Leo Ascendant

The desire to be unique, to stand out, to be Somebody Special, is very pronounced in Carlo. He radiates a warm, vibrant energy that does make other people notice him. He seems strong, centered, and confident, and he makes a powerful impact on his environment. He may well have a certain dignity or regal bearing that commands respect from others. He likes to do things on a grand, royal scale, and he disdains pettiness. He will be known for his generosity of spirit.

Congratulations to the Valastros and the rest of their clan on the new arrival!

Princess Honor Marie

According to mom Jessica Alba, 2-1/2 year old Honor Marie Warren is lovin' the girly-girl high-fashion life!

“It’s crazy! It’s totally nuts, I mean she wants her high heels everyday,” she told People.

“I usually try and give her an option, now I stopped doing that because she just goes nuts and she wants to wear everything. She wants a princess dress everyday so I have to say, ‘This is a princess t-shirt, princess jeans, those are princess cowboy boots’ and she’s cool with it. Yeah, she’s kind of obsessed with princesses.”

Apparently she also enjoys accompanying her mom through her beauty routine and putting on pretend makeup.

With Venus in Gemini, Honor is certainly going to love to experiment and be playful with fashion and expressing what she sees as beautiful. But her Venus is also right on top of her Sun, and in a sextile* relationship with her Mars in Leo. Both Leo and the Sun love to shine! With her moon in Leo too, she's a performer at heart and will love to strut her stuff.

But most importantly, let's not forget that Leo is known as the sign of royalty: the regal pride of Leo is shown in its animal representative, the King of the Jungle, the Lion. Princess cowboy boots for Honor? Mais, oui!

*When two planets are sextile each other, they tend to 'light each other up', working well together and even bringing out the best in each other. A sextile is known as harmonious.

Willow Smith's Fab Funky Fashion

Earlier this year, Mlle. Kiddie looked at the kiddie fashion stylings of Suri Cruise and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt (check that out here). Suri and Shiloh are both known for their striking fashion choices: Suri for her flowy dresses and Shiloh for her gender-bending style. But Willow Smith is in a class all her own! Check out some of the recent fashion choices this youngster has sported:

Willow is a Scorpio so she likes to take things to extremes, whatever it may be, and really go all the way with something. She's also going to like things that are a bit edgy and provocative: making people look twice!

The planet Venus, especially, has a lot to do with what we think is beautiful and how we express with our own bodies, minds, and hearts what we think is beautiful, so fashion is right up Aphrodite's alley. Willow's Venus is right next to Pluto in her chart, and Pluto rules (shares similarities) with Scorpio, so there's a double dose of that kind of strong, intense vibe, both Venus and Pluto are in the sign of Sagittarius. Sagittarius is a very exuberant energy, and we can see this especially in Willow's typically bright and splashy color choices.

Sagittarius is also a sign that is known for it's love of travel and cross-cultural experiences, so we can probably expect more exotic elements to continue to appear in Willow's wardrobe, like her animal prints and the British flag pants shown above. And, of course, Sagittarius is all about free-spirited fun and experimentation, which looks like a no-brainer for Willow! Rumor has it that Willow wants to start her own fashion line. Bonne chance!

Christina Applegate and Sadie Grace

Add a new Aquarian to the growing list of celebrity babies! Sadie Grace was born to Christina Applegate and partner Martyn LeNoble on January 27th.

Aquarians are born with the need to develop their sense of individuality and independence, to do things their own way, so they often need to develop a strong will and even a stubborn streak to be able to stick to who they know they are. Sadie's got some extra help in that department!

Her Moon (heart) is in Scorpio, a sign known for feeling deeply and intensely, and it's in a comfortable trine relationship to Uranus, which is the planet of individuality (much like Aquarius is the sign of individuality), so she is going to be passionate about her individuality and her right to be free and follow her heart. Her Moon is in a challenging square to Neptune, the planet of compassion and empathy, so she will be learning how do what is right for her while also responding to her deep feelings toward others' needs and emotions.

She also has Jupiter, a planet that is about expansion, leaps of faith and following opportunities, in the sign of Aries, a sign that really wants to go for it, with no holding back and no hesitating. And the clincher: Sadie's Aquarius Sun (sense of self) is in a conjunction with Mars, the planet of will and personal power. Here's what her Kiddiegram reveals about this powerful connection:

This child is very energetic, and one of your principle tasks as her parents is to help her find outlets for her abundant vitality. She is quite competitive, and enjoys contests and challenges, whether physical or intellectual. She is very strong-willed and rather combative, uncooperative, or uncompromising at times.
Any combativeness is typically out of her need to learn how to manage her own desire for strength, and her strong will is necessary for her to be able to assert her personality. With Saturn, the planet of discipline, in Libra, the sign of relationship, she will have to practice at diplomacy and understanding where others are coming from, but with those skills on her side, she'll definitely always be "graceful" under fire!

Angela writes:
My husband and I already live across the planet from each other, and we are currently looking at separating and eventually divorcing. This means my son, Liam, will see his father once a year at most. I worry about how this will affect him as he grows. What can I do to make the best of this for him?

Amy answers:

Given that Liam is still so young and has already spent a great deal of time apart from his father with you as his primary caregiver, the impact of the divorce will likely not be as difficult as if he had been raised with his father in the home for many years first. Probably more critical, then, are issues involved in helping him build the relationship between his father long-distance as he grows. Equally as important, if not more so, will be your relationship with him since you will be providing (and have been) primary care and nurturing on a daily basis.

Liam's south node lies in Cancer in the 8th house, so the shelter and a feeling of being protected within a family unit is certainly something that will be of value to him, but with his Mars in Cancer in the 7th house of relationship, it's also likely that he'll often want to be on the giving end of that protection, and probably quite loyal to and protective of those he loves, especially you.

Liam has Saturn in Virgo on his Midheaven (the 10th house) and it's opposite Uranus in Pisces in the 4th house. This can set up a dynamic in his life where he works out two issues that seem to be in conflict. The first is his own desire to measure up to others' expectations of him, especially the authority figures in his life (and there's many of them when we are kids: parents, teachers, etc.). This is represented by Saturn. The second is his desire to be simply and purely himself, and be loved and accepted for it. This is represented by Uranus. I'll return to this issue below.

Liam's father has three planets in the sign of Taurus, which, when overlaid onto Liam's chart, fall in Liam's 5th house. When someone's planets fall in our 5th house, we are inspired to feel more playful and to live more in the moment, which can be great for a parent and child enjoying each other. However, in situations of long-distance parenting, it can be easier for the visiting parent to feel more like, well, a visitor, or a playmate. This is an issue some single parents face who have primary custody anyway, since the rules and norms are maintained at the primary parent's place and therefore visiting the other parent can sometimes seem like vacation (of course this depends on many factors).

This may not be much of a problem as far as Liam's relationship with his father if his visits are going to be so infrequent. Perhaps the role of a loving and supportive adult figure in Liam's life who can give him a change of pace can be the focus for dad while Liam is young (again, mainly because the situation you both find yourselves in prohibits frequent in-person involvement). It's possible that Liam may resent involvement from his father if he tries any authoritarian overtures with Liam as he gets older, since dad isn't the one setting the daily structure and rules. With Liam's Saturn Uranus opposition, he's likely to be frustrated if he feels that someone who doesn't know him (Uranus) in a deep way imposes limits on him (Saturn). This can certainly be mitigated by his father building a close relationship with him through other means if he can't always be there in person. This issue won't just play out with dad, but with any authority figure in his life, if he feels misunderstood or like he's not really being seen for who he is (Uranus).

For most children and especially for Liam, a sense of family in the heart sense will be built on those that he feels really know him and support him for who he is as an individual, with that gentle Piscean touch of compassion and that Cancerian love, nurturing, and protection, while also fostering his independence and capability. You and Liam both share the same sun (Virgo) and same moon (Aquarius), so there will be some good common ground for you both to relate to each other, specifically an understanding of how you always want to do and be your best, but you also want to be free to be yourself, even if it's messy or doesn't look the way others think it should. You will be more than enough for Liam.
