Sagittarius Signature Star Child: Armie Heartly Gigandet

Armie Heartly, third child of Cam Gigandet (The Twilight Saga, Easy A) and fiancĂ©e Dominique Geisendorff, is our Sagittarius Signature Star Child!

Armie's Sun lies in outgoing and adventurous Sagittarius. With Mercury also in Sagittarius, she will cultivate a love of learning most naturally through experimentation. If she can get her hands on something, her interest is more easily engaged. With both her Sun and Moon in fire signs (Sagittarius and Leo), she's built to jump right in to life rather than sit on the sidelines.

Third-time dad Cam Gigandet
That won't always be easy for her. Saturn lies right next to Armie's Sun in her natal chart, and Neptune forms a tense square to them both. Because the Sun represents how we can build a healthy and confident sense of self, Saturn's restrictive influence can feel dampening to her enthusiastic Sagittarius spirit. However, Saturn represents where commitment and discipline will help bear the richest fruit.

More from her Kiddiegram:

Sun Conjunct Saturn:
Armie is quite conscientious and mature, and she takes her responsibilities very much to heart. She expects to work for and achieve on her own whatever she wants, and she does not seek others' assistance or company, even when she would really benefit from it. Because she is rather quiet, contained, and unexpressive, you may not know what is going on inside her, but she is very sensitive to criticism and she needs a lot of warm encouragement to feel good about herself. Do not be too hard on her for her mistakes, as she already tends to be hard on herself. Humor is a good antidote for her often overly serious attitude.

Sun Square Neptune:
Armie has a great sense of wonder and muses over the mysteries and nature of the Universe, much more than others her age. She is a dreamer, who needs to be given some concrete direction in helping her find expression for her sensitivity and imagination.

Sagittarius Signature Star Child: Sammy Kai Schreiber

Samuel "Sammy" Kai, son and second child of Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber,
is our Sagittarius Signature Star Child!

With a lively Sagittarius Sun boosted by nearby Mars, soon-to-be 6-year-old Sammy is likely a very active little boy! Sagittarius is a sign that needs a lot of room for play and spontaneity and plenty of fun. With Mars, the planet that best represents our physical energy output, also in Sagittarius, Sammy will probably enjoy physical play immensely, whether it's wrestling with his dad or kicking a soccer ball. He's likely to be restless so finding outlets for that energy will be important for mom and dad's sanity!

His Sun and Mars are also in a tense relationship, a square, with Uranus, the planet of freedom and individuality. He'll need a lot of room to run not only physically, but in all ways, and will tend to respond with rapid frustration when he feels fenced in or forced. However, with Mercury in sensible Capricorn, he'll probably respond easily enough to reason (once he's calmed down!)

More from Sammy's Kiddiegram:

MERCURY represents thinking and reasoning processes, the way your child's mind works, his intellectual inclinations and way of communicating ideas.
Mercury in Capricorn:

Samuel Schreiber is a deep thinker, and he has a rather cautious, skeptical, and serious mind. Pragmatic and concrete-minded, he requires proof before embracing a new idea. He may be rather quiet and taciturn, also.
Mercury Conjunct Pluto:
Mom Naomi Watts & Dad Liev Schreiber
Samuel Schreiber likes to solve mysteries and to delve into the hidden, secretive, or unknown aspects of life. He is not content with superficial explanations and is skeptical of simple, pat answers. His probing analysis and questions can make others uncomfortable, especially because he does not like to reveal much about himself. He has the mind of an in-depth researcher, private investigator, spy, or psychoanalyst.

Sagittarius Signature Star Child: Romy Coppola Mars

Romy, daughter of Sofia Coppola and Thomas Mars, is our Sagittarius Signature Star Child!

Romy has four planets in the expansive sign of Sagittarius, including Jupiter and Venus, both close to her Sun. Romy will probably be able to get along with just about anyone easily and have an instinctively generous nature. She's also likely to believe in others and give them the benefit of the doubt as well as embrace an overall positive outlook.

Sofia Coppola
Although she'll be learning to develop and strengthen optimistic and open-hearted Sagittarius these traits, she's not without a certain shrewdness. Her south node lies in Virgo, which can be very analytical and can easily fixate on little imperfections. She also has Mercury, the mental and communication planet, close to Mars, both in Scorpio, so not much gets by her! She'll have an instinct to notice when something seems a little off or there's more to a situation than someone is letting on.

Her moon is in sensitive Pisces so she'll probably be empathetic and tender-hearted as well as intuitive. It's close to individualistic Uranus, so her moods may be a bit unpredictable. More on her Moon-Uranus link from her Kiddiegram:

Moon Conjunct Uranus:
Spontaneous, emotionally impulsive, and excitable, Romy Coppola Mars can be disruptive if she is restrained for too long. She loves to feel free and a bit wild, and she is uncomfortable in a formal, stuffy, or overly-structured environment. She is inclined to have unusual habits or idiosyncrasies, too. She may enjoy shocking you at times.

Sagittarius Signature Star Child: Hazel & Phinnaeus Moder

Hazel & Phinnaeus Moder, daughter and son of Julia Roberts and Danny Moder, are our featured Sagittarius Signature Star Children. The Kiddiegram reports are the heart and soul of Kiddiegram, because they were created out of a desire to help you understand and nurture your precious one. A Kiddiegram is truly a "user's manual!"

Hazel and Phinnaeus are undoubtedly two smart cookies. Born with a resilient Scorpio south node and a keenly observant Virgo Ascendant, very little gets past them.

Sagittarians are naturally eager to learn and explore their world as born adventurers. With Jupiter in the amiable sign of Libra in the first house, they lead with a charm and buoyancy to their personality that makes it easy to like them. They may also have a knack for pranks or if they prefer, really great jokes! They probably keep mom laughing all the time.

There is a strong focus of Gemini and Mercury energy in their chart, which emphasizes a very curious personality and an excellent ability for critical thinking, especially with detail-oriented Virgo as their rising sign. They were born to ask questions and find out their own answers, only to ask more--a trend that will continue throughout their lives. Mercury and Pluto are in a conjunction in their chart, which makes them unsatisfied with anything but the deepest answers.

More from their Kiddiegram:
Mercury conjunct Pluto

Hazel and Phinnaeus like to solve mysteries and to delve into the hidden, secretive, or unknown aspects of life. They are not content with superficial explanations and are skeptical of simple, pat answers. Their probing analysis and questions can make others uncomfortable, especially because they do not like to reveal much about themselves. They each have the mind of an in-depth researcher, private investigator, spy, or psychoanalyst.

When They Were Young: Brad Pitt

While Brad Pitt probably doesn't need any more confirmation that he's #1 dad in his kids' eyes, apparently he's also been named top dad at the Big Daddy awards this year! Before he was a dad, Mlle. Kiddie looks at when he was young.

Brad seemed to be into a little of everything, especially when it came to sports: golf, tennis, wrestling, skateboarding, basketball, baseball (here he is in uniform), you name it! That's no surprise for a double Sagittarius--both his Sun and Ascendant are in active and energetic Sagittarius, so he would have probably wanted to try everything at least once as a kid. It's also no surprise that he tried his hand at journalism--both on the school newspaper in high school, and majored in journalism in college, with the practical, money-making focus of advertising, no doubt due to his four planets in practical Capricorn.

With a wealth of Capricorn, there is much about him that is surprisingly serious, and those closest to him would have seen the side of him that was always trying to do the right thing. While he might have appeared to have that carefree and easy Sagittarian demeanor, he no doubt applied himself to his goals and been a mostly responsible kid. But he would have liked to push the envelope when things got too serious. Rebellious Uranus is in a tense relationship with his Sagittarius rising, so when he found himself taking life a little too seriously, he probably pulled a prank or two to shake things (including himself) up!

This hard-working Capricorn side of him has no doubt come in handy as he's become an accomplished actor in his adulthood, and that Sagittarius outlook to life helps him keep the adventure of life in perspective--something you need with six kids from around the world!

Willow Smith Whips Her ... Scalp?

Willow Smith, the 11-year-old daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith who is known for her song "Whip My Hair" is now sporting a new, sleek look:

Willow Smith's Shaved Head * Posted on her WhoSay account
Willow may be young but seems to have been born with a strong sense of style, having already been seen in several show-stopping ensembles on various red carpets, with this look perhaps the edgiest so far.

It is common to find a prominent, recurring theme in a natal chart. In Willow's chart, there is a predominant Scorpio theme. Not only is her Sun and Mercury in Scorpio, but her Venus (a planet that has much to do with our style, what we find beautiful, and how we express our own beauty) is conjunct Pluto, the planet that rules Scorpio. No matter how her style evolves, it will likely always have the continuing thread of Scorpio's edginess and extremity.

It's not just about challenging or shocking others, however, but about expressing something intense and raw. While that sounds quite serious, Venus and Pluto are in the sign of Sagittarius, so there's a bit of an adventurous, "why not try it once?" attitude prevalent in her style as well. Her Sagittarius influence also explains the playfulness in her color schemes.

What will she do next?!

Ali Larter's Flower Child

Theodore Hayes enjoyed his first Halloween dressed up with mama as a bumblebee last month, which apparently was a meaningful choice, as mom Ali Larter shared her love of bees in a recent interview:
“We actually just put in a garden in our yard and lots of lavender. There’s a lot of bees all over, and I believe in loving the bumblebees. I saw the bee documentary [Vanishing of the Bees] and I thought, ‘This is going to be our little family’s [thing].’

“I’m never going to be one of those moms that puts hand sanitizer all over my kid. I mean, hopefully, he’s going to be dirty in the playground or in the streams, hiking in the mountains. I want him to always be a child of nature.”

While any zodiac sign can be a nature lover, this is a great way for mom to nurture Theodore's Sagittarius Sun. It's often mentioned that Sagittarius loves travel to far-off places, but what really lies at the heart of Sagittarius is the spirit of adventure and the desire to expand one's horizons in any way, even if it happens in your own back yard.

Sagittarius is happiest learning through experimentation and experiencing, without being told what to look for or expect. Ruled by expansive Jupiter, it is a sign that wants to say Yes! to nearly everything. Even when they should probably exercise a little more caution so they don't fall off that cliff, they are usually able to roll with life's knocks and recover quickly, keeping themselves adaptable.

Growing up around nature and being free to experience it first-hand is a great way for a Sagittarius child to learn that their world is not something to be afraid of. Sounds like mom will be a great example!

Theodore's birth time was given as "early morning," so an approximation of 5 am has been used for the chart image; however, no inaccurate information was used in the interpretation.

Willow Smith's Fab Funky Fashion

Earlier this year, Mlle. Kiddie looked at the kiddie fashion stylings of Suri Cruise and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt (check that out here). Suri and Shiloh are both known for their striking fashion choices: Suri for her flowy dresses and Shiloh for her gender-bending style. But Willow Smith is in a class all her own! Check out some of the recent fashion choices this youngster has sported:

Willow is a Scorpio so she likes to take things to extremes, whatever it may be, and really go all the way with something. She's also going to like things that are a bit edgy and provocative: making people look twice!

The planet Venus, especially, has a lot to do with what we think is beautiful and how we express with our own bodies, minds, and hearts what we think is beautiful, so fashion is right up Aphrodite's alley. Willow's Venus is right next to Pluto in her chart, and Pluto rules (shares similarities) with Scorpio, so there's a double dose of that kind of strong, intense vibe, both Venus and Pluto are in the sign of Sagittarius. Sagittarius is a very exuberant energy, and we can see this especially in Willow's typically bright and splashy color choices.

Sagittarius is also a sign that is known for it's love of travel and cross-cultural experiences, so we can probably expect more exotic elements to continue to appear in Willow's wardrobe, like her animal prints and the British flag pants shown above. And, of course, Sagittarius is all about free-spirited fun and experimentation, which looks like a no-brainer for Willow! Rumor has it that Willow wants to start her own fashion line. Bonne chance!

Parenting with Astrology: Managing Learning Issues

Amy Herring has been a professional astrologer for 15 years and a proud mother for 5 of those years. She has joyfully accepted Mlle. Kiddie’s gracious offer to share her thoughts once a month here at Kiddie Star Signs. To find out more about Amy and her personal readings for parents and children, visit her website at http://heavenlytruth.com.

Money and fame don’t solve every problem. Celebrity moms have their hopes and worries for their children too. However, I’d like to offer ‘everyday’ moms a chance to see astrology put into action to answer their parenting questions. After all, famous or not, you’re the world to your kids! If you’ve got a question about your child that you’d like Amy to answer, send your questions to amy@heavenlytruth.com.

Jenna writes:
My 8-year-old son is a very unique child. I say this with some experience as he is the 5th of five others. He has poor social skills and is a late reader. He does seem to struggle in school, yet his imagination is vivid. He often states, "I'm going to make an amazing invention when I grow up." Any insights you can provide will be much appreciated.

With questions regarding learning and communication, we typically begin with Mercury, the planet of the mind, learning, and communication and in this case, Mercury is conjunct his Sun in Sagittarius. Sagittarius is the sign of the philosopher and part of that is because Sagittarius takes what it knows and has experienced and puts it together. It's opposite sign, Gemini, disseminates information, takes it apart and looks at all the pieces, but Sagittarius is about pattern recognition and seeing things holistically. It connects the dots, not typically in an A to B to C fashion, but in bigger and simultaneous leaps.

It's doubtful that there's going to be any issue with his intelligence. The struggle he may have is going to be more along the lines of getting everything he's absorbing in some kind of order. In grade school, we're learning the ABCs--literally of course, but also in terms of method. We crawl before we walk. We learn the alphabet before we read. We need to understand each dot before we connect them, but it's quite possible that he's almost too impatient to do that easily. So some of the challenge may be getting him to slow down, not just in attitude about learning, but in the way his mind works and processes information. He may just need some specific tools in order to help him do that, whether it's an issue of extra tutoring or learning exercises and tools that fit certain learning disabilities. It's important that I be clear: he may not necessarily have a learning disability - that's not what I specifically see in the chart; you'll want to have him evaluated if you think he has enough struggle to determine that. All I am doing is taking your cues in already knowing there may be an issue and looking at the way he learns and what that issue might be.

He also has Saturn in Gemini. While there are many positive aspects of Saturn, it can often represent some aspect of our lives that is difficult. It is through continued effort, discipline, and practice that we are able to acquire the skills we need to succeed wherever Saturn lies. Saturn is Time itself--nothing happens quickly where Saturn is concerned. I mentioned a little of what Gemini represents above - learning to take ideas apart and see the facts, the building blocks, the components of how something works. Saturn in Gemini and also retrograde, simply means that it will take more effort for him than for some to master Gemini: learning, communication, and the ability to manipulate information and data. This is fully within his ability but it will not come quickly, another reason why giving him tools to help the process as I mentioned in the above paragraph will help him get a leg up. Saturn likes tools!

I think he's right about making that amazing invention. Mars is in an exceptionally tight conjunction with Uranus, so his motivation, passion, and will (Mars) is irrevocably tied to his desire to pursue his individuality and investigate the unusual (Uranus). Uranus is the planet of invention because it is everything opposite of convention so it thinks outside of the norm.

Thanks for your question!
