When They Were Young: Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts is mom to three kiddies: 7-year-old Sagittarius twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and Gemini Henry, who just turned 5 this month. She said in a recent interview that her kids are "starting to get it," the fact that mom is pretty famous. Julia herself grew up with actors; both her parents were actors and. Mlle. Kiddie takes a look at Julia when she was young.

Despite her very public career as an adult, she was probably a rather introverted child. No doubt her parents' profession allowed her a forum to explore her creativity and desire to perform, which comes from her expressive Leo moon. Creativity is heart and soul to a Leo moon. But the classic show-off? No way.

Julia's secretive Scorpio Sun, as well as her Mercury and South Node, are all in her private 4th house of home, family, and inner life, and she has a Cancer ascendant, which accentuates the need for privacy and a need for a sense of being protected against the glare of the world. As a child she probably not mind playing on her own, with her imagination to build worlds and tell stories. It's been said that Julia wanted to be a veterinarian when she was younger--a classic desire for someone with significant Cancer--wanting to love, protect, and heal those vulnerable or in need. When They Were Young: Brad Pitt

While Brad Pitt probably doesn't need any more confirmation that he's #1 dad in his kids' eyes, apparently he's also been named top dad at the Big Daddy awards this year! Before he was a dad, Mlle. Kiddie looks at when he was young.

Brad seemed to be into a little of everything, especially when it came to sports: golf, tennis, wrestling, skateboarding, basketball, baseball (here he is in uniform), you name it! That's no surprise for a double Sagittarius--both his Sun and Ascendant are in active and energetic Sagittarius, so he would have probably wanted to try everything at least once as a kid. It's also no surprise that he tried his hand at journalism--both on the school newspaper in high school, and majored in journalism in college, with the practical, money-making focus of advertising, no doubt due to his four planets in practical Capricorn.

With a wealth of Capricorn, there is much about him that is surprisingly serious, and those closest to him would have seen the side of him that was always trying to do the right thing. While he might have appeared to have that carefree and easy Sagittarian demeanor, he no doubt applied himself to his goals and been a mostly responsible kid. But he would have liked to push the envelope when things got too serious. Rebellious Uranus is in a tense relationship with his Sagittarius rising, so when he found himself taking life a little too seriously, he probably pulled a prank or two to shake things (including himself) up!

This hard-working Capricorn side of him has no doubt come in handy as he's become an accomplished actor in his adulthood, and that Sagittarius outlook to life helps him keep the adventure of life in perspective--something you need with six kids from around the world!

Cousins Maxwell Drew & Bronx Mowgli

Ashlee Simpson, mom to 3-year-old Bronx Mowgli, says she and Bronx are "in love with Maxwell already." Ashlee's older sister, Jessica Simpson, gave birth to a girl, Maxwell, on May 1st of this year. Mlle. Kiddie predicts some cousin love between these two as the grow. 

They both share a Virgo moon, a strong point of compatibility (sharing a moon sign) between any two people, family or not. They may both like things just-so, and if they disagree on how to do something right, sparks may fly, but they will still be naturally close. 

Bronx, being older, will surely like to show his little cousin a thing or two that he's learned in the many years before Maxwell was born. A Virgo moon kiddie will take pride in demonstrating the skills they know, but in addition, Bronx's Mars lands right in the same place as Maxwell's north node. When a planet in someone's chart falls on our north node, they can be a teacher for us, directly or indirectly, as we learn from their example in a particular area of our life. Mars is a planet of action and defense, so we might see Bronx willingly going to bat to protect cousin Maxwell when she needs it, although he might be tempted to show her who's boss a time or two like a big brother might!

Hollywood Birthday Roundup: Gemini's Honor and Stella

It's a happy birthday for a lot of little Gemini girls in Hollywood! Last week Stella (daughter of Tori Spelling) and Honor (daughter of Jessica Alba) both turned 4 within two days of each other.

Stella turned 4 on the weekend, apparently celebrating with a tea party! Stella was born with a Libra Ascendant, so she'll love a posh party, and her Virgo moon will love the 'just-so' properness of afternoon tea and the crafty projects it looks like they had fun making. Perfect! No wonder mom tweeted "Like mama like daughter: fave activity?"

Mom Tori wrote a special note on her website, ediTORIal, to her 'little star':

“Four years ago tomorrow, on June 9th, 2008, my baby girl Stella was born. Her name means ‘star’ and from the moment she came into my life, she has been the twinkle in my eye. My entire life I wanted a little girl. A little girl I could love, cuddle, dress up, and tell her every day how smart, beautiful and amazing she is. Four years later I still do that with Stella and will continue to do so for the rest of her life. And in return, Stella makes me feel just as loved. We are truly best girlfriends...Happy Birthday Buggy!"

Honor had a "Kidville" party with balloons and face painting on the weekend. Dad (Cash Warren) and mom tweeted "Happy 4th bday my angel" with a sweet family pic of the four of them. With the moon in performing and expressive Leo, Honor probably had the time of her life playing the part of birthday princess, not to mention enjoying the love of her adoring 'subjects'!

How I Met My Mother: Keeva Jane is Here!

Alyson Hannigan (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, How I Met Your Mother) and husband Alexis Denisof (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) welcomed their second baby girl on May 23rd, Keeva Jane!

Mom and dad can call Keeva "their little scientist," with the Sun, Venus, and her south node in curious Gemini. Asking questions and testing her environment will bring endless entertainment. With Mercury in Taurus, she'll develop some pretty good common sense as well.

The two sisters have some pretty great astrological compatibility between them, especially between their two Suns, in early Gemini (Keeva) and early Aries (Satyana). Aries and Gemini can be compatible because they share a desire to explore and try new things. Oh, the mischief these two will get into together! 

Big sis Sati will surely be thrilled to lead the way into double trouble, all in good fun!
