Aquarius Signature Star Child: Exton Elias Downey

Exton Elias, first child and son of Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan Levin,
is our Aquarius Signature Star Child!

With loads of Aquarius (Sun, Mercury, and Ascendant), this kiddo is likely smart as a whip. Aquarius is sometimes called the sign of the genius, not necessarily because of a high I.Q. but out of a tendency to look at things differently and put information together in ways that aren't always in line with status quo thinking. In the hidden 12th house, it may not always be obvious how he connects the dots in his own mind because he considers not just the obvious, but the subtleties in every situation as well.

Independent and individuality will be strong themes in his chart in many ways. With Aquarius Rising, he'll need a lot of freedom to approach situations in the way that makes the most sense to him and will not always understand or appreciate the social expectations of others, which will also shine through in friendships with Venus and Uranus so closely conjunct. Venus is in Pisces, so he's highly empathetic to others and intuitively tuned in to their emotional reactions and needs, but with Uranus nearby, he is not easily manipulated by what others feel or want from him and may have a hard time when it comes to compromise if he feels his own needs are being sacrificed in the process. With a Leo Moon in addition, he is highly creative and needs room to explore and express it.

More from his Kiddiegram:
Sun in Aquarius:
Independent-minded and strong-willed, Exton Elias Downey has his own ideas about how things should be done, and they often do not conform to any already-existing standards or patterns. In fact, he seems to positively delight in challenging custom and convention. Born with a strong need to experiment, he is drawn to the novel and unusual in people, ideas, fashions, and lifestyles. Innovation, originality, inventiveness, and discovering new or alternative ways of doing things are his trademark. Much flexibility, open-mindedness, and tolerance will be required of his parents, for he is likely to overturn all sorts of precedents in his own distinctly individual manner.
Robert & wife Susan
Sun in 12th house:

Exton Elias Downey keeps much of who he is to himself, and there's a lot more going on in him than meets the eye.  His inner life, imagination, and awareness of subtleties and nuances play a big part in his life.  This child should never be forced or cajoled into being more outgoing or visible than he wants to be.  To be his best, most creative self, he needs his privacy and time for reverie and daydreaming.

February CeleBaby Round Up Featuring Sid Biggs

Jason Biggs
Jason Biggs (American Pie, Orange is the New Black) shared a picture of his newborn baby boy, Sid, born on February 15th.

A sweet and mellow baby he'll probably be, with a laid-back Taurus south node (dad has a Taurus Sun), although as he navigates his world with it's different sights, sounds, and definitely tastes, he'll certainly start to form some sharp opinions thanks to his analytical Virgo Moon. A Virgo Moon baby knows what he likes and doesn't like, thank you very much! He may grow into a picky eater so hopefully mom and dad will expose him to new foods early and often (only when he's ready though, of course!)

A Virgo Moon baby also loves to be hands-on and helpful, but may need a lot of encouragement to give things a try since he may be sensitive to criticism if he doesn't do something the right way the first time. Luckily, as he grows he'll develop that outgoing Leo Ascendant and be ready to take on the world!

It's been a massive baby boom in Hollywood! Mlle. Kiddie also sends happy wishes to these celebrities who welcomed babies in February:
  • Sarah Jane Morris (Brothers & Sisters, Felicity) gave birth to an Aquarius baby girl on February 1, Beau Katherine.
  • Melissa George (Good Wife) welcomed her first child, an Aquarius boy, in Paris on February 10.
  • Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster) and her husband Jason Goldberg, parents of two girls Jagger and Poet, now have a son, Lyric Sonny, an Aquarius boy also born on February 10.
  • Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green are second-time parents. Aquarius boy Bodhi Ransom was born on February 12th.
  • Simon Cowell (X Factor, American Idol) had a special delivery on Valentine's Day, first child Eric, an Aquarius, born at 5:45 pm.
  • Another Valentine's Day baby, Fianna Francis was born to Danny Masterson (That 70's Show) and wife Bijou Phillips. See a picture of dad and baby.
  • Emily Blunt (Devil Wears Prada, Looper) is a first time mom to Hazel, yet another Hollywood Aquarius baby, born in the morning on February 16.
  • Another Hollywood Bodhi, newborn Aquarius Bodhi Rain, was born on February 17 to Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) and husband Mark Webber.
  • A third boy, Pisces Apollo Bowie Flynn, was born to rockers Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale on February 28th.

January CeleBaby RoundUp

Shakira in 2012
Performer Shakira is a new mom to baby boy Milan, who was born in Barcelona on January 22nd. Milan looks like he is going to be a lot of fun. The union of the Moon and expansive Jupiter in his chart reveal that he will have the open and generous heart of a child even when he is an old man.

He will also have the curiosity of a child throughout his life. Communication, learning, and observing will be some of his favorite pastimes due to a number of factors in his chart. The Sun in intellectual Aquarius is tied to Mercury, the planet of communication and thought, indicating that a prominent trait that lies at the very center of who he is (Sun) is what he knows and what he wants to find out (Mercury). This is echoed in his Moon/Jupiter connection in the communicative sign of Gemini, in the 3rd house of communication, observation, and learning (there seems to be a theme here, yes!)

He will probably enjoy school for what he can learn but may not enjoy having to follow the rules or the structure of conventionally-organized school programs. He needs a lot of wiggle room to go at his own pace and do things his way, especially with independent Uranus in the sign of "let-me-do-it-by-myself" Aries! He'll also probably have a riotous sense of humor as Jupiter lends its joviality to his already witty Gemini moon. He'll be quick with the jokes and probably keep his parents laughing from an early age.

Mlle. Kiddie also sends happy wishes to these celebrities who welcomed babies in January:
  • Elijah Joseph Daniel, Capricorn baby boy, born January 11. Second child for Elton John & David Furnish.

Aquarius Signature Star Child: Maple Sylvie

    Jason Bateman & Amanda Anka
Maple Sylvie, daughter of Amanda Anka and Jason Bateman, are our featured Aquarius Signature Star Children. The Kiddiegram reports are the heart and soul of Kiddiegram, because they were created out of a desire to help you understand and nurture your precious one. A Kiddiegram is truly a "user's manual!"

With both her Sun and Mercury in the sign of Aquarius, Maple will be an independent thinker and likely not shy about expressing her opinion. She has the mind of a scientist so she'll be curious and want to look at everything as though it's an experiment to be figured out. All of this is coupled with a Gemini south node, which boosts her curiosity and mental aptitude. She may even start talking and walking on the early side of her development.

She'll also be pretty independent in her relationships, even from a young age, with Venus and Uranus tied together in the chart in a conjunction. Venus is the planet of relationship and in the case of young children, it can describe their developing style in friendships, from the friends they choose to the way they try to connect with others. Because Uranus is a planet of individuality (it is the ruler of Aquarius since they share some overlap in their symbolism), and both of these planets are in the vibrant and powerful sign of Aries, she may often like to do things on her own, and will tend to be more of a leader than a follower.

More about Venus in Aries from Maple's Kiddiegram:
    Venus in Aries
Maple Sylvie strikes up friendships and makes overtures to others quite readily, but she often will not compromise or make any special accommodations for her friends. Generally, if you want to play with her, it is on her own terms. She likes courageous and forthright children, and there is likely to be a good bit of friendly rivalry between her and her playmates.

*Maple's birth time and exact city is not publicly known, so a sunrise chart was created. However, an exact birth time must be known to calculate the houses and ascendant in a natal chart, so Maple's Kiddiegram does not include that unknown information and no incorrect interpretation has been offered on the unknown components of Maple's chart, with the exception of the Moon, which is speculated to be in Libra but could be in Virgo if she were born before sunrise.

    Silly Sadie Grace

Christina Applegate, mom of 1-year-old Aquarius daughter Sadie Grace, talked with Scholastic's Parent & Child magazine about her "funny little kid:"
"She makes me laugh every day — she’s a funny little kid and a happy girl. She’ll stand on a little box in our room and press her musical bear until she finds the song she wants. Then she grooves, dances, and stomps around for 20 minutes. She has the best time all by herself. Martyn and I love watching that — it makes us laugh really hard."
Every sign has their own sense of humor and for Aquarians, it's the absurd, the sudden, and the unexpected. With instinctual Mars so close to Sadie's Sun, she'll have a great ability to shoot "from the hip" and make others laugh with her comedic timing.

Christina goes on to say that she's gotten a lot sillier since Sadie was born, doing monkey imitations and just being generally "ridiculous." While Sadie's Mars is next to her Sun, Christina's Mars is next to her Moon, in the sign of Pisces which brings a sort of whimsy to her humor style. With a wealth of Sagittarius planets in her chart, she's also going to be great at spontaneous, silly, physical humor. Looks like the monkey imitations are working out for her, but apparently "Sadie is a much harder critic than the public!"

Aquarius Signature Star Child: Leo Bardem

Leo, son of Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem, is our featured Aquarius "Star Child."
    Link

The Kiddiegram reports are the heart and soul of Kiddiegram, because they were created out of a desire to help you understand and nurture your precious one. A Kiddiegram is truly a "user's manual for parents.

In part, Leo's life will be about developing personal strength, individuality, and self-confidence. With his Sun in Aquarius, he is learning to appreciate himself for who he is, not who others wish he would be or even who he tries to be. Not just individuality, but also a strong self-appreciation is important for Leo. With Mars, the planet of power, will, and life force, so closely aligned with his Sun (identity and sense of self), acts of courage will build his confidence and self-appreciation.

It will be especially important for him to feel free to be himself, not just to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants, but also to have a sense that the world is a wide place to discover. His Jupiter (growth, potential) in adventurous Aries will reveal to him how much he can grow when he trusts his instincts and lets it all go!

With the Moon in Virgo, that may be a bit of a challenge. A Virgo Moon child really wants be helpful, to succeed, and feel they are doing things right but an Aquarius Sun, he will need to learn that "right" is defined by himself, and therefore his "success" can only be judged by himself.

More about Leo's Virgo Moon from his Kiddiegram:

    Moon in Virgo:
Leo is frequently rather hard on himself demanding perfection of himself and feeling guilty if he does not live up to his own high standards. He tends to be his own worst critic, and sometimes he will not even attempt to do something that he has never attempted before, for fear that his efforts will just not be good enough. Frequent assurances that mistakes and failures are okay, a natural part of the learning process, can help him overcome this tendency.

*Leo's birth time is not publicly known, so information which would be based on an accurate birth time has not been included.

Jerry Seinfeld is Raising "Weird Kids"

Jerry Seinfeld is not only funny and weird, he's encouraging his kids to be funny and weird as well. Jerry said in a recent interview:
"I think it's fun to be funny and I push it on the kids, too."
He tells his kids: "Don't be embarrassed. When you're acting silly, it feels weird, but this is what makes life more fun."

His wife, Jessica, also says: "Weird is good," and understanding that helps their kids appreciate and accept all of the unique people that they meet.

Jerry and Jessica have three kids: Sascha (10), Julian (8), and Shepherd (6). Of all three, Julian will probably appreciate the "weird is good" sentiment the most! Often times, the characteristics or situations that make us stand out or feel weird, are where Uranus or the sign Aquarius shows up in an astrological chart. Uranus represents the way we develop our sense of individuality.

Uranus isn't about confidence, necessarily; confidence often comes from many places, such as the astrological Sun. Uranus is where we learn that we can walk our own path, our own 'road less traveled'. We may feel awkward, we may stand out, we may feel we aren't understood, but it's a strong Uranus that enables us to be free to think outside the box and make up our own rules. The sign Aquarius also reflects these experiences and needs.

Julian not only has the Moon in the sign of Aquarius, but he also has three other planets in Aquarius, including Uranus and Mercury close to the Moon. He'll probably be an innovative thinker, and have some kind of ability to come up with unusual and creative ideas, as well as being a creative problem solver. With these planets in the hidden and personal 8th house, he may keep his thoughts to himself, but he's learning to gain confidence and trust himself with Jupiter, the planet of faith and opportunity, in Leo (confidence, charisma) in his first house (self-expression).

In any case, dad Jerry will be a good example for off-the-wall silliness. With Uranus conjunct his south node, he was born weird!

Happy Valentine's Day: Baby Boy for Cake Boss

It's a boy for 'Cake Boss' Buddy Valastro and his wife, Lisa. Carlo Salvatore Valastro was born on Valentine's Day in the early evening at 5:11 pm. Carlo comes from Carlo's Bakery and the man who owned the bakery before Buddy's dad took over. Salvatore comes from Sal Picinich who worked at the shop for over 40 years until he died in January.

This and many other examples from the show Cake Boss reveal how important tradition and family is in little Carlo's family, which is already revealed in his chart.

Little Carlo has a Cancer south node, the sign of family, in the 11th house, which represents (among other things) groups. A 'family group' might be more appropriately called tribe or clan, and Carlo certainly has a big one! He also has the moon (heart) in Cancer, so he will probably be very closely bonded with his tribe.

With 4 planets, including his Sun, in the sign of Aquarius, Carlo will be learning independence and what it means to be an individual within the context of that large family that will shape his early years. It will be of prime importance for him to take opportunities to find out who he really is, even if it's not always understood by his family. Three of those planets are also in the 7th house of relationship so the contrast between the people he has in his life and wanting to live up to their expectations vs. his own individuality will be rich learning ground.

The planets Jupiter and Uranus are both forming a square to his south and north nodes, which represents a kind of 'rite of passage' for these learning processes. Jupiter in Aries is about learning to risk, to take initiative and leaps of faith. Uranus will echo his Aquarius need to not be afraid to be true to himself and be honest about and proud of who he is.

His Leo Ascendant will come in handy when it comes to pride. The Ascendant is our overall approach to the world, and having a Leo Ascendant brings the natural desire to express oneself, playfully and sincerely, being proud of who one is rather than apologizing for it or catering too make others comfortable. Here's more about Leo Rising from Carlo's Kiddiegram:

    Leo Ascendant

The desire to be unique, to stand out, to be Somebody Special, is very pronounced in Carlo. He radiates a warm, vibrant energy that does make other people notice him. He seems strong, centered, and confident, and he makes a powerful impact on his environment. He may well have a certain dignity or regal bearing that commands respect from others. He likes to do things on a grand, royal scale, and he disdains pettiness. He will be known for his generosity of spirit.

Congratulations to the Valastros and the rest of their clan on the new arrival!

    Christina Applegate and Sadie Grace

Add a new Aquarian to the growing list of celebrity babies! Sadie Grace was born to Christina Applegate and partner Martyn LeNoble on January 27th.

Aquarians are born with the need to develop their sense of individuality and independence, to do things their own way, so they often need to develop a strong will and even a stubborn streak to be able to stick to who they know they are. Sadie's got some extra help in that department!

Her Moon (heart) is in Scorpio, a sign known for feeling deeply and intensely, and it's in a comfortable trine relationship to Uranus, which is the planet of individuality (much like Aquarius is the sign of individuality), so she is going to be passionate about her individuality and her right to be free and follow her heart. Her Moon is in a challenging square to Neptune, the planet of compassion and empathy, so she will be learning how do what is right for her while also responding to her deep feelings toward others' needs and emotions.

She also has Jupiter, a planet that is about expansion, leaps of faith and following opportunities, in the sign of Aries, a sign that really wants to go for it, with no holding back and no hesitating. And the clincher: Sadie's Aquarius Sun (sense of self) is in a conjunction with Mars, the planet of will and personal power. Here's what her Kiddiegram reveals about this powerful connection:

This child is very energetic, and one of your principle tasks as her parents is to help her find outlets for her abundant vitality. She is quite competitive, and enjoys contests and challenges, whether physical or intellectual. She is very strong-willed and rather combative, uncooperative, or uncompromising at times.
Any combativeness is typically out of her need to learn how to manage her own desire for strength, and her strong will is necessary for her to be able to assert her personality. With Saturn, the planet of discipline, in Libra, the sign of relationship, she will have to practice at diplomacy and understanding where others are coming from, but with those skills on her side, she'll definitely always be "graceful" under fire!

    Gosselin Kids' Growing Pains

People Magazine reported earlier today that two of the Gosselin sextuplets, Collin and Alexis, have been expelled from their private school and are being home taught for the time being, due to "greatly exaggerated reports of bullying and abuse" on their parts. While that can conjure up images of extreme violence in some fantastical minds, Mademoiselle Kiddie wishes not to jump to conclusions and supposes this expulsion could be due to something as simple as violating school rules repeatedly, for example. (especially in a private school that may be more strict). Either way, it has been said that the kids are 'acting out' as a result of difficulty coping with the divorce of their parents.

Mademoiselle Kiddie suspects Venus is behind this story.

When most astrologers, and even most people, think of Venus, they are drawn to the Greek myth of Aphrodite, who was known as the goddess of love and beauty. Astrologers think of Venus as the urge to create relationships based on harmony and similarity. So why would Venus be behind stirring up so much trouble?

Well, if you've ever read the old myths, you'll know that the gods and goddesses don't always behave and even like to stir up trouble with the humans! One such time of trouble can be when the planet that represents that god or goddess goes retrograde (appears to travel backward in the sky for a time), such trouble can often manifest. The planet Venus has been traveling backward through the sign of Scorpio (now briefly back into Libra).

Any time a planet is in retrograde, it is a time to REview and REpair issues that the planet represents. WithDuring the period that Venus is retrograde, we often see challenges in relationships of all kinds, whether it is old friends returning, or letting current relationships go, or dealing with what isn't working in a relationship in order to try and get it fixed. While Venus has been retrograding (since early October) people that have been feeling under-valued and under-appreciated by those around them have been more inclined to speak up about it and in Scorpio, that means in no-uncertain terms! They're not going to take it anymore. And that may be just the kind of issue surfacing with Collin and Alexis.

As Venus has been moving over Scorpio, it has been forming a square (a tense relationship) with their moon in Aquarius, which can push them to rebel (Aquarius) if they feel like their feelings (moon) are not being heard, understood, or valued (Venus). As it formed the square, it also forms a trine (a comfortable relationship) to Uranus and Mars, so Uranus and Mars behaviors are easier to express than the moon behaviors. Therefore, rebellion and disobedience (Uranus), as well as displays of aggression and assertion of one's own will and dominance (Mars in the 1st house) are most likely defense mechanisms for feeling like they don't have an outlet for their feelings. Addressing what's hurting, and especially what makes them feel like their freedoms and individuality are not being respected (which is one thing moon in Aquarius really wants), is a positive way to diffuse and re-direct the impulsive aggression.

Even though there is no report on the other four children being expelled, Mademoiselle Kiddie would not be surprised to find that similar behavior has been showing up in these children, even if it comes out in different situations, since they all share a chart and are all being triggered by Venus simultaneously.

Venus will begin moving forward again on November 19th, at which point she will, even though moving forward, trigger these sensitive spots again before leaving them for a significant length of time. Mademoiselle Kiddie guesses most of December may have these kids 'acting out' as they try to get their needs met.

On twins and more: While all six children have basically the same chart, not all kids respond identically to the same urges, as they all have free will to make their own choices as they interact with the environment, and some people think may even have different inclinations based on past lives where they were not part of sextuplets/identical charts!

    Tom Colicchio's Little Chef Luka

Top Chef Tom Colicchio has had a lot of reasons to celebrate lately. In May he was the recipient of the prestigious James Beard award as the nation's top chef and his little Leo, Luka Bodhi, just turned 1 year old last month!

So will little Luka follow in Tom's footsteps and win a James Beard award like daddy?

With Venus in Cancer in the 5th house, he may be a bit of a foodie: taking comfort and pleasure in home (Cancer) cooking, but as for his career and how he lives his life, he's going to have his own way of expressing himself. With his Sun in Leo, he's going to love to perform and shine for those around him in some way, but his Aquarius rising sign shows that he'll have to balance the desire for others' applause (Leo in the 7th house of relationships) with his own desire to be true to himself, regardless of others' approval.

    From Luka's Kiddiegram:
He has a distinctly original way about him that makes him seem a little different or unusual, and he enjoys being his own person rather than "one of the sheep." ... Also, he wants to think everything over and make up his own mind, and he resists being led.
Tom insists he isn’t dreaming of his sons taking over the family business. Instead his real hope as a father “is to raise children who go out in the world,” he says, “and do the right thing.”

Octuplets Turn 1 Year Old Today

I don't think these octuplets, dubbed "octo-babies" need much introduction. Their mother, Nadya, gave birth to all eight children between 10:43 and 10:48 am a year ago today. Happy birthday to Noah, Maliyah, Isaiah, Nariyah, Makai, Josiah, Jeremiah & Jonah!

Even if you don't know much astrology, their birth chart is pretty striking, with many planets clustered near the top. The babies have half of their planets, including the powerful sun and moon, in Aquarius and the 10th house. It is not uncommon to find people with a full 10th house in the spotlight, which isn't surprising in this case since these babies have been there since day one of their lives. But what's in store for them? How will these babies develop?

As individuals, believe it or not. With such a strong Aquarian presence in this chart, each of them will find it imperative that they feel free to develop and explore in accordance to their true selves. While that's healthy and natural for everyone, it will be vital for these children. They will find it exceptionally important to find people in their lives that view them not as a collective group, but as individuals with names and dreams, fears and needs. Of course, one can see why it'd be even more crucial for them, since they're going to have to fight for elbow room in their own lives and even at the dinner table! And fight they will. With Aries rising, they've come to develop an approach to life that's less like a walk and more like a leap. It's every baby for themselves!

Looking at the 10th house and the issue of fame,'this will also obviously play a significant role in their lives, as they need to develop not only as individuals from each other, but also need to develop a sense of separation from the role that they are already playing in society, that of "The Octuplets." The 10th house represents how one contributes to the world. This can be through our career, but can be larger than that; it's the work we've come to do in this world and the legacy we want to leave through that work. Whatever these babies decide they want to be when they grow up, they can bring a lot to the table: ambition (Mars), a strong voice (Mercury), an optimistic outlook (Sun & Jupiter) and a desire to nurture and bring healing to those they've chosen to help (Moon). I wouldn't be surprised if we find many of them in humanitarian endeavors if they're given the chance to show what they can contribute.

With their Sun and Moon conjunct the North Node, they've got two challenges ahead of them: one, the need to develop a strong sense of identity (Sun) based on their development as individuals (Aquarius) and not as a famous baby lost in a crowd of famous babies (10th house), and two, the need to receive nurturing (Moon), something that one hopes they'll get even in the midst of the challenge of nurturing the individuality of 14 children all at once.

In the cases of twins, triplets, etc., it becomes even more obvious just how flexible, yet sound, astrology is. Astrology is a sort of blueprint of the soul, with external factors such as environment, parenting, current cultural and social trends, etc. playing a big role in how that blueprint is constructed throughout a person's life. While all these kids have the same chart, they will build different lives around this common blueprint; the garments will differ, but they'll be made from the same thread.
