July Celebaby Roundup featuring Charlie Ocean Goldblum

Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Independence Day) is a first-time dad!
Charlie Ocean was born on July 4th.

Cancer children tend to have a strong sense of love and loyalty friends and family that is unsurpassed. Mars, the planet of passion and will, is situated very near Charlie's sun, also in Cancer, amplifying this trait. He'll no doubt go to bat for those he loves, defending them fiercely if needed! If Jeff and Emilie choose to have more children, he'll probably make a great big brother.

Jeff Goldblum
Charlie definitely needs his space and freedom though. Aquarius moon children thrive on exploration and following their own sense of curiosity without being told what they should like or should feel. The Cancer-Aquarius combination can be complex to navigate, needing independence one minute and closeness the next.

Like most babies born this July, such as his Hollywood baby bros Atticus James and Rafael Thomas, Charlie's chart also proudly boasts the Venus-Jupiter conjunction in shining Leo. The kids born in this window of time will certainly be the charmers!

Mlle. Kiddie also congratulates these happy Hollywood parents who added to their families in July:
  • Tiffani Thiessen (White Collar, Saved by the Bell) and her husband Brady Smith welcomed their second child on July 1st, a Cancer boy named Holt Fisher.
  • Tamera Mowry-Housley (The Real, Sister Sister) and her husband Adam welcomed Cancer daughter Ariah Talea at 2:54 pm on July 1st.
  • Singer Sophie B. Hawkins welcomed her second child at 4:49 p.m. on July 7th--a Cancer daughter named Esther Ballantine.
  • Singer Bobby Brown and wife Alicia Etheredge welcomed a Cancer baby girl on July 9th at 8:24 pm in Los Angeles, named Bodhi Jameson Rein Brown.
  • Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) welcomed her second child, a Cancer girl, early on July 10th. She has yet to reveal her daughter's name.
  • Jaime King (Hart of Dixie) and husband Kyle Newman welcomed their second son, Leo Thames, on July 16th.
  • Timothy V. Murphy (Sons of Anarchy) and wife Caitlin Manley welcomed their first child on July 22nd in Los Angeles, a Cancer son named Sean Fionn.
  • A.J. Cook (Criminal Minds) and husband Nathan Andersen welcomed their second child, a Cancer son named Phoenix Sky, on Thursday, July 23rd at 5:49 am.
  • Singer Ashlee Simpson welcomed her second child, the first with her husband, singer and actor Evan Ross, on July 30th. They named the Leo baby girl Jagger Snow.
  • Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road) has adopted a second child, a daughter named August (who was born in July!)
  • Zooey Deschanel (New Girl) and husband Jacob Pechenik welcomed a Leo baby girl late July, whose name they have not yet revealed.

July CeleBaby Roundup Featuring Kelsey Gabriel Elias Grammer

Kelsey Grammer and his wife Kayte welcomed their second child together, a baby boy they named Kelsey Gabriel Elias. Baby Kelsey is a Cancer, born just a few hours before the Sun changed signs into Leo.

With three planets in giving Cancer and in his socially-oriented 11th house, Kelsey Jr. may turn out to be quite the humanitarian or social activist. Generous Jupiter is in Leo and while it's difficult to see from the image of his chart, it is actually closely aligned in a conjunction with his Cancer Sun but technically in the spiritual 12th house, potentially reinforcing a compassionate, openhearted, and giving nature. Empathetic Neptune in the seventh house of relationships continues the trend.

Kelsey Jr.'s natural enjoyment of talking and learning will also shine through, with Mars in his 3rd house of communication and the Moon - representing the heart - in the mentally active sign of Gemini. His Gemini Moon is in his 10th house, which can often represent one's career or vocation, so if he follows his heart, he may find himself in one or more of a variety of communication-themed professions, from speech-writing (or giving), to consulting, to education!

Mlle. Kiddie also sends happy wishes to these celebrities who welcomed babies in July:

  • Jimmy Kimmel and Molly McNearney welcomed their first baby on July 10th, a Cancer baby girl they named Jane.
  • Singer Amy Lee and her husband Josh Hartzler welcomed their first child, on July 28th, a Leo baby boy they named Jack Lion (no kidding! A Leo baby with the middle name of Lion ... a coincidence? hmmm...)

Cancer Signature Star Child: Bingham "Bing" Hawn Bellamy

Kate Hudson
"Bing," son of rocker Matt Bellamy and actress Kate Hudson, is our featured Cancer Signature Star Child!

With Venus and the Sun in Cancer, Bing has a loving nature, being naturally inclined to nurture others, and with an intense Scorpio Moon, deep bonds with those he loves will be paramount.  From his Kiddiegram:

Venus in Cancer:
A warm home, loving family relationships, and emotional closeness are extremely important to Bing Bellamy. When he feels secure and loved, he is one of the most caring, sympathetic, and emotionally supportive children you could imagine. But, he will cling and be very possessive or jealous if he does not feel truly loved. He is inclined to have a few close friends that he cherishes rather than a lot of acquaintances.

Noted astrologer Marc Edmund Jones observed that planetary arrangements in a chart would often fall into patterns, and categorized those patterns (along with their common personality traits). These are often referred to as the Jones Patterns and are used by many astrologers. Bing's chart is an example of the "Splash" chart pattern, with the planets seeming to be 'splashed' in all areas of the chart, without much of a concentration in any one section. This can indicate a lot of diverse interests and someone who can be very well-rounded. At the same time, this chart pattern can also indicate someone who has a hard time concentrating their energies and can appear very scattered in their approach to things.

Bing will certainly love to dabble in lots of interests with his planet of action, Mars, in flexible and curious Gemini, and his passionate Scorpio Moon will certainly having him insist that whatever his latest pursuit is, it's the obsession of his life (or at least of the moment!)

The Royal Baby Boy is Born!

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William welcomed their first baby boy today at 4:24 pm, the entire internet reports.

Born just about as 'on the cusp' as you can get, in the very last moment before the Sun moved into Leo, this new royal has 4 planets, including his Sun, in the sign of Cancer, appropriate considering just how much his family will play a part in shaping his life! He was also born as the moon was auspiciously approaching full, in the dignified and responsible sign of Capricorn. Incidentally, mom Kate is a Capricorn Sun and dad is a Cancer Sun. Sounds pretty perfect!

Here's a peek at his Kiddiegram. If your kiddie shares a birthday with this new royal, let Mademoiselle Kiddie know and you may just get a free goodie!

The KiddieGram Report for
Royal Baby Boy

SUN
The SUN in the birthchart represents who this child is at heart, his primary thrust in life, and what path he needs to follow in order to fulfill himself as a unique individual. It indicates who he is inside rather than the way he appears (which is shown more clearly by the Rising Sign).

Sun in Cancer:

At heart, Royal Baby Boy is a very emotional and sympathetic person who is highly sensitive to the feeling tone and subtle atmosphere surrounding him. He cries easily and often seems swept up by the ebb and flow of constantly fluctuating emotions. He instinctively seeks a safe harbor to retreat to, a private place that feels safe and protected, which is most often his mother or his home.

He is very attached to his family and to the beloved, familiar things of home, and he may be loathe to venture away from them for very long, especially when he is quite young. A natural shyness or reticence to open himself to strangers will be in evidence quite early, and he should not be pushed into sociability or a false show of "bravery."  Allow him to set his own pace in meeting the world. Though his attachment to you may be thought of as "clingy" or "overly dependent," it is best to reassure him and to very gently encourage him to overcome his fears. Eventually, given plenty of support and the knowledge that you will indeed always be there to go back to, he will leave the nest quite happily.

Royal Baby Boy has a very nurturing, loving, protective side and he naturally responds to others' needs for comfort and care. Having pets or even a garden to tend will make him quite contented. He is also likely to be an enthusiastic chef and should be allowed to help with the cooking as much as possible. Food will always play an important role in his life, as a means to give and receive emotional sustenance as well as physical nourishment. You should take care not to substitute food for emotional comfort (i.e. "He hurt your feelings?  Let's have some milk and cookies and forget all about it. . ."). This could easily become a habit of his that would be difficult to break later in life.

In fact, the habits that he creates in childhood are likely to stay with him throughout his life, and the attitudes and behaviors he absorbs now will always influence him strongly. He has an excellent memory, also.

Sun in 8th house:

Even as a young child, Royal Baby Boy will be intrigued by things which are mysterious, hidden, or "taboo," and he may make embarrassing or awkward inquiries about people's sex lives, finances, and other private matters--including beliefs about death and the possibility of an afterlife.  If he's raised in a home where such probing curiosity is unwelcome, he'll probably become secretive; even in a fairly open and communicative atmosphere, he may keep a lot to himself.  He's a deeper person than many of his contemporaries.

Sun Opposition Moon:

As you read the above interpretation of Royal Baby Boy's sun sign, and compare it to the description of his moon sign on the following page, you may note distinct differences and possibly contradictions. This is because there are different sides to him, and they may well conflict or pull him in opposite directions.

You will notice as he grows up that he befriends people who are very different or polar opposite to him in some basic ways. It is as if he needs other people to reflect the other side of him. (For instance, if he is very neat and precise, he will be drawn to people who are disorganized.)  Born around the time of the full moon, he is likely to be particularly active or strongly emotional each month when the moon is full.

MOON
The MOON in the birthchart indicates how he deals with and expresses feelings, how he experiences the world on an emotional, feeling, non-verbal level, what his emotional needs are, and what he needs to feel secure, comfortable and at ease.

Moon in Capricorn:

Royal Baby Boy is an industrious, rather serious, practical little person, not the light, frivolous, happy-go-lucky type. To feel secure, he needs structure and a clearly defined set of rules and boundaries. He finds comfort in rituals and traditions (both the small, personal kind like having the same breakfast every Sunday morning, to important family traditions like celebrating holidays in the same way each year.)  He is not an especially trusting soul, and one needs to prove that they are steady and reliable before he will feel really comfortable with them. Little things like coming to pick him up exactly when you said you would mean a lot to him. He likes to know what to expect.

He appreciates order and is often uneasy with the sort of wild, chaotic, free-flowing, rambunctious play that some children relish.

Conscientious and mature even in youth, Royal Baby Boy can be relied upon to keep his commitments. Sometimes his "obligations" weigh heavily upon him, however, and life seems like serious business indeed, so try not to expect too much or burden him with more responsibility than is really necessary.

Unsentimental and rather uncomfortable with feelings and emotional needs (his own or others'), Royal Baby Boy may not let you know how much he depends on you and how much he needs your warmth, protection, and love. He may seem rather aloof at times. He is reserved about letting people get close to him, afraid that somehow he will not be acceptable or will not measure up. He often judges himself harshly and seems to need to prove his worth by achieving some task or goal he sets for himself. It is very important for him to know that you love and value him for himself, and not only for his accomplishments.

Moon in 2nd house:

Favorite possessions and familiar things--quilts, toys, and so on--enhance Royal Baby Boy's sense of security.  Long after he's stopped using them, he'll want to keep them because of all the emotional energy he's invested in them.  He can become a pack-rat, and his living space may become cluttered with cherished items he's loathe to discard.  For the most part this harmless quirk should be indulged.  However, he should perhaps be discouraged from displacing emotional needs onto material items (like an unhappy person who buys a new hat to cheer himself up). A trip to the toy store should not become his response to all of life's woes!

Uma's Baby Joy

Taurus Uma Thurman became a mom of three on Sunday! It's a good thing she's a pro by now because she'll have her hands full with this playful and active kiddo. With three planets and her south node in Gemini, this baby girl will probably walk, talk, and get into mischief early!

She'll also be quite independent as she was born while Mars was sailing through the opposite skies from Uranus. With Uranus in feisty Aries, she's not going to let anyone take advantage of her! But Mars in the sign of Libra reveals a little girl who is friendly and considerate, and coupled with her nurturing Cancer Sun, she will do anything for those she loves.

No baby name has been revealed yet!

Mother Moon: Liv Tyler's Natural Nurture

May is for moms; please enjoy this May spotlight on the astrology of our favorite Hollywood moms!

Actress Liv Tyler
Cancer Liv Tyler is mom to only son, 7-year-old Sagittarius Milo. There's plenty more to Cancer than playing mom, but Cancer is often called the mothering sign out of a desire to provide nurture, shelter, and loyalty to loved ones, so naturally their own children are perfect candidates to receive their nurturing nature. Not only is Liv's Sun in Cancer and therefore a central part of her identity, but her rising sign is also Cancer, indicating that her outlook is also shaped by this desire to give love and nurture, and protect herself and her loved ones. Cancer rising, when expressed healthily, is a very loving, kind, and gentle energy that radiates. Sometimes Cancer loves so much and so fiercely that they can be over-protective. They can also get so wrapped up in what or who they are loving, that they forget about themselves or forgo their own needs too often.

But lest we think Liv a classic smother-mother, it's important to recognize that she knows the value of independence for herself and her children due to her Capricorn moon. The moon is very significant when it comes to someone's nurturing style, and what kinds of behaviors they might think are loving and nurturing. In Capricorn, Liv will naturally want Milo to learn how to take care of things himself and won't want to coddle him too much as it can create unhealthy dependency. Milo and Liv are fortunate in that they both have Capricorn moons, which is an easy point of compatibility between them. They're both more likely to have the same ideas about how they interpret nurturing behaviors.

While all parents typically go through some sort of internal tug-of-war with themselves about what is too much or what is not enough on the love and discipline scales, this classic seesaw effect is very prominent in Liv's chart. One of her primary concerns in parenting is probably just this: how much to assist and provide and love, and how much to hold back and let her child do it himself. This tension in her is probably one of the things that makes her a great and thoughtful mom!

Jewel Wants Kase to Find His Passion

Singer Jewel and her bull-riding husband Ty Murray love their "perfect" little boy, Kase, now about 5 weeks old. In a recent interview, Jewel and Ty both agreed on one important thing: they don't want baby Kase to grow up like daddy! Well, at least in his professional life.
“We want him to find his passion. Whatever that is, we are fine with it, but I hope it isn’t bull-riding,” Jewel told People. “I don’t want him to ride,” Ty said. “It is the most dangerous job in the world. But if he’s crazy as I was about it, then what do you do? One of our biggest dreams for Kase is that he finds something he loves.”
Kase's chart shows he's more likely to be a lover than a rider--with the Sun and Venus in gentle Cancer in the 7th house of relationship, he certainly wouldn't want to worry his loved ones. However, Uranus forms a square to his Venus, so he might feel so inclined to rebel a bit whenever he feels too compelled to do what someone else wants for him if it conflicts with his own needs, and with Pluto in Capricorn in the 1st house -- well, let's just say, don't get in the way of this powerful kid!

He has Mars, the planet of passion, action, and often associated with the daredevil in us all, is close to his south node, but it lies in the flexible and curious sign of Gemini, which can be a 'jack-of-all-trades' signature. He has entered this life with an eye for trying everything at least once! Hopefully all those varied experiences will prepare him to focus in a more dedicated and consistent manner toward that which he chooses as his passion, as his chart reveals.

Saturn lies right on his Midheaven, which speaks to a career based on patience toward achieving one's goals and the potential for becoming a respected authority in his chosen career area. His passionate Sagittarius Moon and north node lie in the 12th house, revealing his focus will grow more and more toward a sense of meaning which will propel him from the inside. A sense of a greater, and perhaps altruistic purpose will drive his passions.
